We provide a relaxed environment where Parents/Caregivers can have a good chat, a good laugh and a decent cuppa.
As we operate out of the Cambridge Scout Hall there is space for up to a maximum of 30 children per session to use our extensive range of infant toys, ride-ons, dress ups, play dough toys, puzzles, blocks, cars, dolls, books etc.
We also have a fantastic permanent outdoor play area offering swings, slides, large sandpit, climbing frame, Wendy house and a racetrack.
Each session includes the opportunity for the following:
9.30am onwards - free play, a sit down craft activity, painting at the easel etc
10.15am - sit down on the mat for morning tea, story time and music time
Then more free play or crafts until tidy up time at about 11.15am
Casual visitors welcome, but please phone first to ensure we can take you on that day, $3 donation per family.

Children's play is children's work is children's learning.
Cambridge Kindergarten is a community facility located close to the centre of the rural town of Cambridge.
The first kindergarten established in Cambridge, it has a spacious building within an extensive half acre play area surrounded by mature trees and native planting.
This provides space for challenges and adventures, along with room to explore and experiment.
We provide early childhood education for rural and town children from a diverse socio-econmic background.
The staff are all experienced, fully registered and trained teachers. We plan for children to develop their skills, interests and knowledge in a well resoureced, rich, natural environment.
Flexibility and spontaneity are key elements within the programme to work to the child's agenda and enable teachable moments to be captured.
Children can be put on the waiting list at any time and admission to the session is in birth date order as places become available.
Children start kindergarten early in their 3rd year as vacancies occur, attending afternoon sessions on:
* Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 1.00pm to 3.30pm
For afternoon session this Kindergarten offers parents the opportunity to access 7.5 hours of Free Early Childhood Education. If you choose not to use the free ECE hours a charge of $18.75 per week will apply.
As children move to school this creates a vacancy for the eldest child in the afternoon session, or on the waiting list, to transfer to five morning sessions per week on:
* Monday to Friday from 8.10am to 12.15pm
For morning session this Kindergarten offers parents the opportunity to access 20 hours of free ECE. If you choose not to us free ECE at the kindergarten a charge of $42.50 per week will apply.
We believe working in partnership with family/whanau achieves the best for the children.
We embrace the five strands of Te Whariki (the national early childhood curriculum) using them in our planning and assessment.

The focus of the Cambridge Museum is to collect and conserve, preserve and publish, research and record, display and disseminate the heritage and development of Cambridge, its people and surrounding districts. Our policy is to collect Cambridge related archives, artefacts and photographs, donations of which are always welcome.
Our willing and enthusiastic volunteers work with our two paid staff, to build a rich archival resource of particular interest to students, family and social historians.
The Cambridge Museum is run by the Cambridge Historical Society Inc., with funding assistance from Waipa District Council.

James Gray Kindergarten operates under the constitution of the Waikato Kindergarten Association.
The Kindergarten provides a welcoming, caring, safe and stimulating educational learning environment where children and their families/whanau feel included and respected. The Kindergarten has a child-centred, resource-based programme philosophy, and has a variety of equipment and resources to cater for children's interests and needs.
The outdoor area has recently been redeveloped to Health and Safety standards. The sand area, grass playing area and bark safe-fall area have all been enlarged.
A beautiful native garden enhances the children’s outdoor play area and provides wonderful opportunities for nature explorations.
The area in which the Kindergarten is based is stable with many children and subsequent siblings and their families attending and supporting the Kindergarten. When children leave they go on to attend the many town and country schools in the area.

New Early Learning centre due to open in November 2008.
Welcome to Little Einsteins, an Early Childhood Education Centre where children from birth to school age will be cared for in a warm, stimulating and learning environment, with a primary focus on positive social development and education.
We will provide quality, qualified early childhood teachers and resources to enhance the children's learning and ensure their development and wellbeing. Staff will all be trained in First Aid and CPR alongside their Early Childhood Teaching qualifications. We will have a team of enthusiastic, caring, and experienced educators.
There will be three areas of operation, so that children are appropriately divided into similar learning and social groups. The infant area will be from birth to 2 years, the intermediate area will be from 2 years to 3.5 years, and the preschool area will be from 3.5 years to 5 years. The preschool area will focus on becoming ready for school, with an emphasis on basic reading/writing skills, ABC's and comprehension, providing links to learning in school settings.
Our booking days will now be full days only, with a discounted rate for a full week. For those already booked in for half days, these will be $20.00, hours between 7am and 12.15pm (not including lunch), or between 12.15pm and 5.30pm (including lunch). As the majority of people are wanting full days and full weeks, it is becoming increasingly difficult to fit these children in, so the only half days booked now will be 'leftovers' of what has already been half-booked. Full day bookings will be $40.00, and a full week will be $180.00.
All confirmed enrolments will be required to pay a $25 non-refundable application fee. We will be confirming enrolments closer to opening, and bringing families in to see the centre.
In the under-two's area, there will be a teacher to child ratio of 1:4. The intermediates (2 years to 3.5 years) ratio will be 1:8, and the preschool unit will have a ratio of 1:10.
The centre will be open plan, with large indoor and outdoor areas, as we believe that children need space to grow and learn! The centre will be on 5540sqm (1 ¼ acres) of land, incorporating a 600sqm purpose built haven complete with fun and educational indoor toys and activities. The building will be fully air conditioned.
It will be rurally focused, working around not only animals and their feeding and care, but gardening and horticulture, growing plants and flowers, an environmental hub.
Meals will be fully catered for, including breakfast if required, and children encouraged to eat the vegetables and fruit that they grow as part of a healthy eating plan. We know that many parents face the dilemma of children not wanting to eat a balanced diet, and believe that if a child is responsible for the nurturing, growing and preparation of that vegetable, it might become a lot more palatable!
Outdoors, children can look forward to driving/pushing their cars/bikes/trikes around the purpose built concrete track bordering the 800sqm play area. They can dig and build and create in the shaded sandpits, or bliss out playing with taps, fountains and buckets in the constantly draining wet area, designed with their safety in mind. There will be ample play and climbing equipment to keep little minds and bodies occupied.
We have by far exceeded the Ministry of Education's minimum requirements for space both inside and out, even when filled to capacity of 100 children. As parents of six children, we appreciate the value of space for everybody's peace of mind!
Children would be encouraged to participate in caring for their environment, develop loving, nurturing and tactile relationships with the various animals; miniature ponies, rabbits, birds, guinea pigs, alpacas, calves and lambs.
Children's relationships at home will be nurtured, we encourage parents and families to participate in their child's development and learning, and welcome you into the centre with our open door policy. We will provide you with your child's portfolio to reflect on at regular intervals, a place where we will preserve any special artwork, write development plans and assess progress of your child. We will include photographs of your child, and this is not only a fantastic way to keep in touch with your child's busy days, but a lovely keepsake for them when they are older!
With encouragement, children will explore and absorb a phenomenal amount during their first five years. We are privileged to be offered a place in this vital stage of their development, and will optimise their opportunities for learning.

Mica has been performing at birthday parties for 19 years and has shows to suit all ages from 3-12 years.
Mica arrives in costume, with a battery powered sound system so can perform in any setting; indoors or outside.
The show consists of magic, juggling, slapstick, balloon gags and his famous performing poodle Mischief.
Mica has two formats for parties:
1. A half hour show during which the birthday child gets to help Mica with a trick and gets given a balloon animal as a gift. Cost: $80 for show and travel at 50c km for Cambridge, this makes it $100.
2.An hour performance which is a forty minute show and balloon animals for all the children. Cost $130 for show and travel at 50c km.
