  Birthing my son , Wiremu at home has simply been one of the most powerful and enjoyable achievements of my life. Becoming a mother, a gift I can not even begin to put into words. When as women we plan to birth at home we open ourselves up to a positive birth experience. The amazing journey birthing takes us on gives us the confidence and ability to parent and live the way we choose.

My practice is based on supporting you through this journey. I offer home visits, a birthing pool, natural therapies, a library of books/videos and loving support in labour. I work in a continuity of care model, which means providing you with antenatal, birth and postnatal care. I work closely with a group of homebirth midwives who support me in my practice. Happy birthing!

I am able to provide care at Riveridge East Birth Center, Waterford Birth Center, Matariki and Waikato Hospital. I have a strong belief in the ability of woman to birth without unnecessary interference and this being achieved by women feeling empowered, informed and involved in their own care - in partnership with their midwife.

  Where: On-line business

  Contact: Jane Burton - Designer/Director - Pocotots

The Diary of a Newborn is a great tool for new mums and dads where they can keep a record of how baby fed, slept, settled and much more.

Each day covers 2 pages so it allows plenty of room for filling in the details you want to keep track of.

It's great for a new mum to be able to look back every couple of days and see "wow what a change in baby's sleeping habits or feeding habits - I must be doing something right!"

The sections you will find within one diary day spread includes:-

* Sleeping habits
* Settling times
* Feeding habits
* Baby's mood
* How mum is feeling today
* Activities done today
* Achievements today
* What nappy's baby has had.

The diary has enough pages to cover the first three months of your baby's life.

It is divided into monthly sections by three introduction pages which list possible developmental changes you may notice with your baby in that month.

The diary size is 140mm x 140mm, bound with a black wire binding so it can flip back on itself for easy writing.

A great gift for a new or expectant mum.

  I am a registered independent midwife and I live in Rukuhia with my husband and our 2 children. I cover Hamilton, Cambridge, Te Awamutu and outlying areas with access to River Ridge East Birth Centre, Waterford Birth Centre, Matariki Maternity Hospital and Waikato Hospital.

I come to midwifery with an enthusiasm to work with women in the area of health and wellbeing and a great desire to share in the childbearing experience with women and their families. I believe that birth is a healthy life process best supported in an environment where a woman feels safe and encouraged. I accept and embrace the diverse social, cultural, emotional, physical and spiritual backgrounds that women come from. My aim is to support women to make choices for themselves and their families during this time through information sharing and open communication. The care that I provide is down to earth and based on the individual needs of women and their families/whanau.
